Panis is an artisan bakery on the corner of the main road between Saigon Bay Bed and Breakfast and Bocas Town, in Bocas del Toro. It is one of the favorite bakeries on the island, and you can smell the fresh bread from the street.
The shelves are stocked with sourdough loaves and specialty breads, including gluten-free and vegan options, plus sweet pastries that have earned a loyal following. It is the perfect stop for a quick espresso to go, a snack for the beach or a loaf to share. Prices are a little higher than a typical local bakery, but the quality shows, and cards are accepted. If you are building a list of breakfast spots and restaurants in Bocas del Toro, Panis is a lovely start to the day.
Panis is open Tue to Sat from 8am to 2pm, and closed on Sundays and Mondays. Come early, because favorites sell out.
It is just up the road from Saigon Bay, an easy walk or bike ride. Pair it with breakfast at JJ’s at Bocas Blended in town, or browse our Bocas del Toro travel guide. In town, Sukha on Calle 1era is a good stop for burgers and iced coffee.
