Restaurante El Pirata has been serving Caribbean seafood by the sea in Bocas Town, Bocas del Toro, for more than two decades. The original building has been replaced by a modern one, but the cooking is the same local, Caribbean-style food that has kept people coming back for years.
Order the octopus in coconut sauce, the classic rice and beans or a crispy whole fried fish, and pair it with a tropical drink. The terrace looks out over the water and the islands, so it is a lovely place to linger over lunch or watch the light change at the end of the day. Service is friendly and the menu is full of local favorites. For traditional Bocas flavors with a view, it is one of the classic seafood restaurants in Bocas del Toro.
Restaurante El Pirata is open every day from 10am to 9pm.
From Saigon Bay it is a short taxi or bike ride into town. Compare it with Buena Vista, another waterfront classic, or find more seafood spots in our Bocas del Toro travel guide.
